A conversation with Neil Greenberg
Article Abstract:
Neil Greenberg, a dancer with the Merce Cunningham company, decided early in his career during a year of free-lance dancing that work in classical modern dance forms did not interest him. He determined through a process of elimination and because of the opinion of others that he would be good as a Cunningham dancer that that was where he should go. He learned a lot about his view of dance from seeing the Cunningham dances. The little dance events in each production were what spoke to him the most. Greenberg after almost 7 years decided to go out on his own so he could make his own statements.

A conversation with Stanley Love
Article Abstract:
Stanley Love, a choreographer and performance artist, was also a gay person who felt alienated throughout childhood in Iowa. Love likes to express himself in extreme manners, and one of these is cross-dressing. Love sees his studies at the Juilliard School as a good foundation for big group work. At Juilliard, his favorite choreographer is Anna Sokolow. He values her simplicity and reality in rehearsal. Love sees the dance world as distrusting iconoclasm.
