Alexandra Danilova: Petersburg, Then and Now
Article Abstract:
Former ballerina Alexandra Danilova returned to St. Petersburg, Russia and remarked on the changes that have taken place since she studied at the ballet school there. Danilova noted that the ballet school is larger today and accepts more foreign students who help to offset declining revenues formerly provided by the state. Her visit included a trip to her birthplace, the city of Peterhof, as well as a trip to the famous Maryinsky Theater to see ballet.
