Article Abstract:
An account of the rebuilding of the Kennedy Centre theatre in Washington D.C. is given. It is argued that, the structure won't remain the same as the 1971 appearance, instead, two new buildings are scheduled to flank the main structure, and the entire area is to be made more accessible by staircases down to the Potomac River, in order to bridge a sunken expressway lansdside, and a fountain-filled park.

The four Temperaments, Sonatine, and act 1 of A Midsummer Night's Dream, in that order, constituted the program. Four T's, from 1946, suited the company remarkably Sonatine, not as well known as it should be, is a bon menage a deux rather than a grand pas de deux.

The Opera House in Kennedy Center, Washington, reopened in December 2003 and a preview of the remodeled theater in November featured a solo by Homer Avila. The Kirov was the first ballet company to appear in the reopened Opera House.
