Sailing into the headwind: with the help of solar sails, getting to Mercury may be a breeze
Article Abstract:
Mercury is one of the hardest planets to visit using 1990s space technology, but the use of solar sails could solve the problem. Solar sails use no fuel and are extremely cheap to build and operate. They may be the only practical and cost-effective means by which man can travel to Mercury.
