100 years of American racing: a look at the men and events that define the sport
Article Abstract:
A history of American automobile racing, from an 1895 Thanksgiving Race in Chicago, IL, to the technological advances of 1995, is recounted. The sport is unique in that has been linked with the automobile industry, and is like many other sports in that it has become dependent on television.
