Article Abstract:
Many of the manufacturers at the 32nd biennial Tokyo Motor Show exhibited cars that were designed to be environmentally friendly. The models included electric cars and cars that met zero-emissions standards. Several German manufacturers focused more on power than on environmental impact.

Automobile performance has been measured by how long it takes to reach speeds of 100 miles per hour, for the last 30 years. As newer cars are capable of going much faster, the yardstick has increased to 150 miles per hour. Includes speed tests of seven stock cars.
