'97 Chevrolet Corvette

Chevrolet is set to unveil its newly designed 1997 Corvette, the car's first design change in 13 years. The new C5 model is expected to be significantly more powerful than the C4, which lasted from 1984 to 1996. Though Chevrolet has kept its new design a secret, some details have been leaked.

Electric trucks plug in

The electric Chevy S10 looks just like the regular model truck but houses 1,300 pounds of lead-acid batteries. It can still haul up to 950 pounds and accelerates impressively. So far, the $33,305 truck has been bought by commercial customers and the US Navy and Air Force.

Coast to coast in the new Corvette

A cross-country drive from New York, NY, to Los Angeles, CA, in a brand-new 1997 Corvette C5 is described. Highlights of the trip included the traffic in Manhattan, a dyno test of the new LS1 engine and a visit to Cadillac Ranch in Texas.
