Article Abstract:
Several new automotive safety measures and technologies upgraded in the modern available cars with reference to prevention, mitigation and rescue are presented. Antilock braking, electronic brake-force distribution and electronic brake assist are some of the new technologies enhancing the ability to avoid an accident.

The internal combustion (I.C.) engines are continuously upgraded to the near to zero emission norms and there are about two-dozen engine models from 13 different automakers that qualify as 'near-zero emission'. Details of the newly enhanced engine models with variations in each of the models are discussed.
