Instant karma and the trickster tradition
Article Abstract:
Humiliating things such as breakdowns happen to people who show off in automobiles. John Travolta labeled it instant karma when it happened to him. Such incidences can be seen as a trickster prank, as in Native American lore. The trickster brings bad luck to the vain, actualy preventing worse luck.
