Long-term testing of the two cars continues, with the Oldsmobile Aurora at 24,211 miles and the Porsche 911 Carrera at 22,602. The Aurora has averaged 18.8 mpg, while the Carrera has 20.5 mpg. Even though both cars developed warranty-covered mechanical problems, they continue to perform admirably.

Porsche 911 Carrera

A long-term test of a $62,981 911 Carrera reveals that it is quicker and more nimble than its predecessor. Only a few minor problems have been encountered over 2769 miles of use. Minor complaints include ride that is slightly harsh and road and engine noise.
