Michael Schumacher and his Ferrari suffered defeat from the hands of Mika Hakkinen and his McLaren-Mercedes during the World Championship finale. The twist of fate came during the Luxembourg Grand Prix at the Nurburgring in Germany when Hakkinen made a chassis setup change.
