Some Japanese automobile manufacturers have stopped producing certain models of sports cars in the US and may discontinue the models in Japan as well. The popularity of minivans, sport-utility vehicles, all-wheel-drive sedans and station wagons has contributed to the demise of the sports car.

Nissan's March marches on
Article Abstract:
The March economy car is one of the bright sports for Nissan, which like other automobile manufacturers is suffering through the economic difficulties that beset Japan. The March has been named both the Japanese Car of the Year and the European Car of the Year for 1992-93.
