Article Abstract:
The implications of Australian Accounting Standards Board's AASB 6 Exploration for and Evaluation of Mineral Resources on the accounting methods are discussed. Though the standard is not expected to bring about drastic changes, other accounting standards like AASB 116, 102 and 137 will result in substantial alterations. A review of the accounting standards related to mining industry is presented.
