Article Abstract:
The perceived difference between finance, which is concerned with the economic consequences of transactions, and accounting, which determines the profit and loss for a historical period, is discussed. The development of new international accounting standards (IASs) however has emphasized the need for the accountants and financers to understand each other's needs and importance.
