Taxing times
Article Abstract:
The number of tax cases in Australian courts has dropped since the late 1980s, when the Australian Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Australian courts cleaned up the country's tax schemes. A possible explanation for this is that the Australian Tax Office is more concerned with implementing new tax legislation than it is in following up on compliance to existing legislation.
