Fermentation of high concentration of maltose by saccharomyces cerevisiae is limited by the COMPASS methylation complex
Article Abstract:
A negative influence of an intact COMPASS complex on the fermentation of media with high concentrations of maltose is described. Results indicate that the COMPASS represses the expression of maltose utilization of genes during the late stages of fermentation of a high concentration of maltose.

Heterologous production of dihomo-[gamma]-linolenic acid in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Article Abstract:
The effect of medium composition, temperature and incubation time on production of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) is examined. This is the first description on the production of PUFAs in Saccharomyces cerevisiae that has not used the exogenous fatty acids.
