Molecular and phenotypic characterization of Pseudomonas spp. isolated from milk
Article Abstract:
Molecular and phenotypic characterization has been carried out on Pseudomonas spp. isolated from milk. Findings indicate that ribogroups are in general homogeneous in biovars and nomenspecies. That would confirm the identification potential of ribotyping for Pseudomonas spp.

Molecular studies on the ecology of Listeria monocytogenes in the smoked fish processing industry
Article Abstract:
The authors advocate the use of molecular approaches for determining the bacterial ecology of food-borne pathogens, providing data obtained from research on fish-smoking processes to illustrate the application of these approaches. They include DNA fingerprinting and polymerase chain reaction detection strategies to identify the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in 531 samples comprised of raw fish, fish undergoing the cold-smoking process, and end product.

Characterization and pathogenic potential of Listeria monocytogenes isolates from the smoked fish industry
Article Abstract:
Some strains of Listeria monocytogenes found in food are unlikely to cause human disease. Among 117 isolates from the smoked fish industry, half belonged to lineage II, which has limited potential to cause serious human disease.
