Diversity of Archaea in marine sediments from Skan Bay, Alaska, including cultivated methanogens, and description of Methanogenium boonei sp. nov
Article Abstract:
Culture-dependent and -independent analyses are combined with geochemical measurements in the sediments of Skan Bay, Alaska, are used to investigate methanogenesis in cold marine sediments. A new species, Methanogenium boonei, with strain AK-7 as the type strain is proposed.

Sequence characterization and comparative analysis of three plasmids isolated from environmental Vibrio spp
Article Abstract:
The sequence analysis of three plasmids isolated from diverse Vibrio spp. in salt marsh sediment is reported. The study results provide insight into genetic exchange between Vibrio plasmids, phages, and chromosomes among diverse Vibrio spp.
