Detection and quantification of Plectosphaerella cucumerina, a potential biological control agent of potato cyst nematodes, by using conventional PCR, real-time PCR, selective media, and baiting
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Plectosphaerella cucumerina which is a biological control agent against potato cyst nematode populations. The authors describe the development of molecular tools for detection and quantification of P. cucumerina, and compare these tools to such methods as soils baiting and serial dilution on a selective medium.

Colonization of cattle intestines by Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter laniena
Article Abstract:
The location and abundance of Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter laniena in the intestines of beef cattle were investigated using real-time quantitative PCR in two studies. C. jejuni colonized the proximal small intestine of asymptomatic beef cattle, whereas C. lanienae primarily resided in the cecum, descending colon and rectum.
