Simultaneous direct counting of total and specific microbial cells in seawater, using a deep-sea microbe as target
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the specific microbes in aquatic samples. The combination of the fluorescent in situ hybridization with direct counting has been performed to enumerate these microbes.

Two bacteria phylotypes are predominant in the Suiyo seamount hydrothermal plume
Article Abstract:
Hydrothermal circulation activities cause many plumes in deep oceans and the Suiyo seamount is one of the most active submarine volcanoes, which contain active hydrothermal vents. Microbial diversity and population in a hydrothermal plume present inside the caldera of the seamount was explored and results tabulated.
