Displacement of sequence-specific transcription factors from mitotic chromatin
Article Abstract:
Sequence specific transcription factors are displaced from promoter sequences and bulk chromatin during inhibition of hsp70 promoter transcription during mitosis. Analysis of the relation between transcription factor displacement and chromatin condensation shows that mitotic repression of transcription could be due to chromatin structure. The hsp70 promoter is may become disorganized in a canonical nucleosome structure in mitotic chromatin by retention of DNase I hypersensitivity.

Cell cycle-regulated histone acetylation required for expression of the yeast HO gene
Article Abstract:
Histone acetylation regulated by the cell cycle is necessary for expression of the HO gene in yeast. Chromatin immunoprecipitation assays have been used to study the role of each of the trans-acting factors seen in the expression of the yeast HO gene in late G(sub.one) of the cell cycle in establishing a cell cycle-regulated domain of histone acetylation around the HO upstream regulatory region.
