Evaluation of genetic diversity among Pseudomonas citronellolis strains isolated from oily sludge-contaminated sites
Article Abstract:
The intraspecific diversity among Pseudomonas citronellolis strains is examined using repetitive extragenic palindromes-PCR fingerprinting and PCR-based ribotyping methods. Results indicate that 29 P. citronellolis strains can be put into 12 separate genotypic groups by the former and seven genomic patterns by the latter method. The genetic diversity among the strains is due to different geoclimatic isolation sites, oily sludge type, and chronology of contamination sites.

Degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by a newly discovered enteric bacterium, leclercia adecarboxylata
Article Abstract:
A bacterial strain, PS4040, capable of degrading polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons for use as the sole carbon source is separated from oily-sludge-contaminated soil. Comparative molecular typing with the clinical strain of L. adecarboxylata indicates that there are few comigrating and few distinct amplimers among them.

Evaluation of inoculum addition to stimulate in situ bioremediation of oily-sludge-contaminated soil
Article Abstract:
A bacterial consortium that can degrade oily sludge can substantially reduce the amount of petroleum hydrocarbon in contaminated soil. The group included Acinetobacter baumannii, Burkholderia cepacia, and a Pseudomonas sp.
