Frugivory and seed dispersal by vertebrates in the Oriental (Indomalayan) Region
Article Abstract:
Finches, some pigeons and parrots are the primary seed predators among birds in the Oriental Region, while rodents and colobine monkeys are the primary seed predators among mammals. Vertebrate families endemic to the Old World or the Oriental Region disperse most seeds within the region, apart from close to its northern boundaries. Various potential seed dispersal agents eat the large, small-seeded fruits and smaller fruits, while fewer dispersers consume the larger-seeded, bigger fruits.

Mechanisms and evolution of deceptive pollination in orchids
Article Abstract:
The orchid family is renowned for its diversity of pollination mechanisms and unusually high occurrence of non-rewarding flowers compared to other plant families. The mechanisms of deception in orchids include generalized food deception which is the most common mechanism followed by sexual deception.

Article Abstract:
The knowledge of flower visitors and pollination in the Oriental Region is roughly spread across habitats and taxa. Experimental studies suggest that highly social bees like Trigona and Apis are the most important pollinators in lowland forests.
