Cultivation-independent analysis of fungal genotypes in soil by using simple sequence repeat markers
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to adapt genotyping based on simple sequence repeat (SSR) marker detection for use in cultivation-independent monitoring of fungal species or strains in bulk soil DNA. Results of the cultivation-independent method are consistent with cultivation-dependent genotyping.

Lipid II-based antimicrobial activity of the lantibiotic plantaricin C
Article Abstract:
The mode of action of the lantibiotic plantaricin C (PlnC), produced by Lactobacillus plantarum LL441 is analyzed. The structural lipid II binding motifs described for other lantibioticas is shown on the basis of the in vivo and in vitro activities of PlnC.
