Genetic introgression between wild and stocked salmoids and the prospects for using molecular markers in population rehabilitation: the case of the Adriatic grayling (Thymallus thymallus L. 1785)
Article Abstract:
The study was designed to characterize the genetics structure of the Adriatic grayling in Slovenia, with particular emphasis on estimating the degree of introgression with non-indigenous stocked grayling. It was revealed that no distinctive Adriatic group is present but rather a dispersed multitude of individuals that cannot be unambiguously distinguished from more homogeneous Danubian population is present.

Revisiting the role of introgression vs shared ancestral polymorphisms as key processes shaping genetic diversity in the recently separated sibling species of the Anopheles gambiae complex
Article Abstract:
A study to determine whether mitochondrial DNA sequences have introgressed between the closely related African malaria vectors Anopheles gambiae and A. arabiensis is presented by applying population genetic methods. The results propose locale specific unidirectional introgression of mitochondria from A. arabiensis into A. gambiae.
