Genetically engineered human salivary histatin genes are functional in Candida albicans: development of a new system for studying histatin candidacial activity
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the histatins, histidine-rich proteins from the family of the salivary proteins. The study of the histatin action mechanism has been carried out via the constructing of the Candida albicans strains containing chromosomally encoded human salivary histatin genes controlled by the regulated promoter and the details are reported.

A polyketide biosynthetic gene cluster from Streptomyces antibioticus includes a LysR-type transcriptional regulator
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the Type II polyketide synthases. The isolation and characterization of a polyketide biosynthetic genes from Streptomyces antibioticus have been investigated, and the transcriptional regulatory gene linked to the cluster has been identified.
