How is female mate choice affected by male competition?
Article Abstract:
Study is conducted to argue that the effect of competition on mate choice depends on whether it results in the choosy sex attaining high breeding value for total fitness, considering both direct and indirect fitness benefits. Three stages where competition might impact upon choice process are elaborated.

The use of multiple cues in mate choice
Article Abstract:
The hypotheses and the evidence in favor of the findings that females base their mate choice on several cues are examined. The consequences that the use of multiple cues may have for the process of sexual selection and the maintenance of genetic variation are discussed.

Some cultures are less desirous of personal choice and according to Iyenger & Lepper too much choice is aversive in humans. The evidence for whether animals prefer choice and whether choice simulates consumption is examined.
