Hybridization between tetraploid and diploid species of treefrogs (genus Hyla)
Article Abstract:
First generation hybrids between the tetraploid grey treefrog Hyla versicolor and the diploid Hyla arborea were all triploids and appeared to have two sets of chromosomes from H. versicolor and one set from H. arborea. Equal numbers of males and females were produced, but testes were generally more fully developed than ovaries. Gene products from the two parents were not equally expressed, as indicated by electrophoretic analysis of selected allozyme loci. Backcross hybrids were triploid, tetraploid and pentaploid, but with no recognizable chromosomes from the H. arborea grandparent.

Quantitative trait loci for spawning date and body weight in rainbow trout: testing for conserved effects across ancestrally duplicated chromosomes
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on quantitative trait loci which affect body weight and spawning date in a backcross between rainbow trouts' outbred strains. The study of these loci has been carried out via incorporation of microsatellite loci into the existing markers' data set, and the results are presented.
