Indirect molecular diagnosis of copper toxicosis in Bedlington terriers is complicated by haplotype diversity
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on copper toxicosis in Bedlington terriers. The authors have investigated the origin of recombination event between copper toxicosis-linked marker and the MURR1 exon 2 deletion mutation in these terriers via the study of blood from Bedlington terriers in the United States, and they report the existence of a haplotype containing allele 2 of copper toxicosis-linked marker in combination with wild-type MURR1 allele.
