Kinetics of mRNA and protein synthesis of genes controlled by the 1,4-beta-endoxylanase A promoter in controlled fermentations of Aspergillus awamori
Article Abstract:
The kinetics of expression and repression of the Aspergillus awamori 1,4-beta-endoxylanase A (exlA) gene was investigated at the mRNA and protein levels. Northern blot analysis of pulsed samples revealed that kinetics of mRNA synthesis of exlA is similar to those of the Thermomyces lanuginosa lipase and Escherichia coli beta-glucorinidase genes. Analysis of the pulsed samples under continuous culture conditions revealed that repression of the exlA gene occurs approximately one hour after mRNA expression.

Gene transfer in the gastrointestinal tract
Article Abstract:
Research conducted on the genetically modified organism probiotics persistence and transgene transfer in the avian gastrointestinal tract is analyzed. Results indicate that gene transfer rates in vivo are higher than in vitro rates.
