N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea mutagenesis: Boarding the mouse mutant express
Article Abstract:
An overview of forward genetic approaches in use by established centers and smaller groups which might act as a resource for those interested in designing their own screens or wishing to access the archives of mutants generated in ongoing genetic screens is presented. The continued need for support of large- and small-scale screens and mouse archives as invaluable scientific community resources is highlighted.

Role fate of heterotrophic microbes in pelagic habitats: Focus on populations
Article Abstract:
Knowledge about the role and fate of different populations of heterotrophic picoplankton in marine and inland waters is reviewed. Focus is laid on a growing suite of techniques that link the analysis of bacterial identity with growth, morphology, and various physiological activities at the level of single cells.
