Maternal height, pregnancy weight gain, and birthweight
Article Abstract:
Research is presented on the relationship between pregnancy weight gain and infant birthweight being modified due to the mother's height. Based on an examination of uncomplicated, single baby births at the University of California, San Francisco, between 1980-1990, there is an apparently significant and positive relationship between increased height of the mother and weight of the baby among whites, Asians and blacks, but not among Hispanics.

Article Abstract:
The National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys-1999-2002 was analyzed in order to investigate the relationship between milk consumption or calcium intake and height. The results indicate that adult height was positively associated with milk consumption at ages 5-12 and 13-17, after controlling for sex, education and ethnicity.
