Membrane dynamics in endocytosis
Article Abstract:
Participants at the 7th annual meeting on endocytotic research held in Sep. 1995 described several possible mechanisms for membrane dynamics involved in endocytosis. They discussed the structure of clathrin and the role of membrane proteins in identifying substances to be taken into the cell. They also discussed alternatives to clathrin-mediated endocytosis such as the formation on caveolae, non-clathrin coated vesicles and macropinosomes.

Synaptic protein synthesis associated with memory is regulated by the RISC pathway in Drosophila
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to show that neural activity directs the mRNA of the Drosophila Ca(super 2+), Calcium/Calmodulin-dependent Kinase II (CaMKII), to postsynaptic sites, where it is rapidly translated. It is concluded that degradative control of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) pathway underlies the pattern of synaptic protein synthesis associated with a stable memory.
