Molecular characterization of the ferric-uptake regulator, Fur, from Staphylococcus aureus
Article Abstract:
The ferric-uptake regulatory (fur) regulates iron metabolism in Staphylococcus aureus. Fur binds to a region on the fhu operon called the fur box.

Molecular characterization of the iron-hydroxamate uptake system of Staphylococcus aureus
Article Abstract:
The three genes in the iron-hydroxamate uptake system in Staphylococcus aureus appear to code for an ATP-binding protein and two ferrichrome permeases. The operon resembles an ATP-binding cassette transporter and it is specific for iron-bound siderophores.

Molecular characterization of a chromosomal locus in Staphylococcus aureus that contributes to oxidative defence and is highly induced by the cell-wall-active antibiotic oxacillin
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the cloning and molecular characterization of the chromosomal locus encoding Staphylococcus aureus. The results of the Northers blot analysis indicate that the S. aureus gene is transcribed as a polycistronic message with the additional downstream genes.
