Proper coronary vascular development and heart morphogenesis depend on interaction of GATA-4 with FOG cofactors
Article Abstract:
Heart morphogenesis and proper coronary vascular development have been found to depend on interaction of FOG cofactors and GATA-4. A knock-in mouse with a single amino acid replacement in GATA-4 has been created. The replacement impairs the physical interaction with its presumptive cardiac cofactor FOG-2. An intrinsic requirement for GATA-4 in heart development has been shown. It seems GATA-4 function is dependent on interaction with FOG-2 and likely an additional FOG protein for certain aspects of heart formation.

Rearrangement of chromatin domains during development in Xenopus
Article Abstract:
Rearrangement of chromatin domains is discussed relative to development in Xenopus. Using nuclear matrix fractionation to study active chromatin domains has been validated. Data give a way to determine active chromosomal territories in the embryo. They emphasize the role of nuclear architecture in regulated expression in development.

Rb intrinsically promotes erythropoiesis by coupling cell cycle exit with mitochondrial biogenesis
Article Abstract:
The article discusses the role and significance of the central regulator of the cell cycle, retinoblastoma protein (Rb) in the promotion of erythropoiesis. Rb is found to be extremely important for the intrinsic promotion of erythropoiesis, as it helps in the coupling of the cell cycle exit with the mitochondrial biogenesis.
