Re-evaluating AKT regulation: Role of TOR complex 2 in tissue growth
Article Abstract:
A study focuses on the importance of phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3k)/AKT signaling in treating cancers, wherein enzymatic activity of AKT is shown to be dependent on phosphorylation of conserved sites by TOR (target of rapamycin) complex 2 (TORC2) in a Pl3K-dependent manner. Experiments show that TORC 2 acts as a rheostat to broaden the range of AKT signaling for tissue growth and metabolism.

Extending the repertoire of the mixed-lineage leukemia gene MLL in the leukemogenesis
Article Abstract:
The molecular and animal models of mixed-lineage leukemia gene (MLL) derived leukemia will exemplify how MLL fusions contribute to leukemia. They are further aimed at developing new therapies for prevalent cancers.
