Relationship between sitting-height-to-stature ratio and adiposity in Brazilian women
Article Abstract:
Six hundred and sixty-nine women from Brazil aged 20-55years were studied through a cross-sectional design to explain the association between sitting-height-to-stature ratio (SHSR) and a variable of prepubertal environment, and levels of adiposity. The results revealed that high SHSR, was independently associated with adiposity in that group of Brazilian women and association was not attenuated by age, parity, schooling, or parental obesity.

Article Abstract:
A study was undertaken to assess the relevance of height in non-Hispanic U.S.-born children during the period 1942-2002. Results showed that from the 1970s there has been a marked increase in the height of the children with the growth rate differing between boys and girls while genetics and family income were also partly responsible.
