Resting metabolic rate in a sample of girls in Malaysia and England
Article Abstract:
A study to compare resting metabolic rate (RMR) in Caucasian premenarcheal girls from England with Asian girls in Malaysia is conducted. Results reveal that although a difference in RMR is observed between the two groups, when corrected for body composition this difference is no longer significant proving that the relationship between fat-free mass and RMR in both Caucasian and Malaysian girls are the same.
