The RETINOBLASTOMA-RELATED gene regulates stem cell maintenance in Arabidopsis roots
Article Abstract:
The local reduction of expression of the RETINOBLASTOMA-RELATED (RBR) gene in Arabidopsis roots increases the amount of stem cells without affecting cell cycle duration in mitotically active cells. Expression analysis and genetic interactions position RBR-mediated regulation of the stem cell state downstream of the patterning gene SCARECROW.

Control of fruit patterning in Arabidopsis by INDEHISCENT
Article Abstract:
The seedpod, Arabidopsis opens through a spring loaded mechanism known as pod shatter, which is necessary for dispersal of seeds and INDEHISCENT, an atypical bHLH protein is identified for fruit opening. It was found that FRUITFULL, which is a member of the MADS-domain transcription factor family, is needed for fruit growth.

Mutual control of membrane fission and fusion proteins
Article Abstract:
The role of the dynamin-like GTPase Vps1p in fusion of yeast vacuoles is described. Results indicate that a reciprocal control exists between fusion and fission components, which may prevent futile cycles of fission and fusion.
