The chromosome queen
Article Abstract:
Nancy Kleckner, a professor in Harvard's department of molecular and cellular biology (MCB) was able to provide important insight about chromosome behavior, including the movement of transposons, the regulation of bacterial replication, and the interaction of homologs during meiosis. Kleckner and her colleagues published the first report on transposon mutagenesis in 1975 which was used to generate Escherichia coli mutants.
