The tumor suppressor microRNA let-7 represses the HMGA2 oncogene
Article Abstract:
The knockdown study of Dicer in the HeLa cells show that high-mobility group protein, HMGA2 is transcriptionally very active, though its mRNA is destabilized in the cytoplasm through the microRNA (miRNA) pathway. Analysis of the suppression of oncogene suggests that some tumors are extremely efficient in activating the oncogene through chromosomal translocations by eliminating the untranslated region with the let-7 target sites.

The APC/C inhibitor, Emil, is essential for prevention of rereplication
Article Abstract:
Study is conducted to show that early mitotic inhibitor (Emil) plays an important function in cell proliferation by preventing rereplication. Results suggest that an essential function of Emil in S and G2 cells is to prevent rereplication via stabilization of inhibitors of rereplication of such as cyclin A and geminin.

Right place, right time, and only once: Replication intitiation in metazoans
Article Abstract:
The advances in understanding how replication is initiated in metazoans at the correct chromosome positions, at the appropriate time, and only once per cell cycle is discussed. The aim is to focus on findings in replication in eukaryotes while emphasizing the components and events that are specific to metazoans.
