Use of short tandem repeats for the analysis of genetic variability in sympatric populations of Anopheles gambiae and Anopheles arabiensis
Article Abstract:
Short tandem repeats and their use for analysis of genetic variability in Anopheles arabiensis and Anopheles gambiae sympatric populations of are discussed after mosquitoes collected in coastal Kenya were analyzed at 30 short tandem repeat loci. Apparently location of loci in paracentric inversions is important in levels of differentiation measured by various loci and interchanging of genes between the species is limited.

Spatial genetic structure of the ectoparasite Ixodes uriae within breeding cliffs of its colonial seabird host
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on seabird ectoparasite Ixodes uriae. The authors have investigated the local genetic structure patterns within this population in the effort to examine the importance of hosts' spatial subdivision for the parasite population functioning, and they report the results.
