Why repetitive DNA is essential to genome function
Article Abstract:
A variety of clear theoretical reasons and many well-documented examples indicate that repetitive DNA is essential for genome function. The surprising abundance of repetitive DNA in many genomes is reviewed, its structural diversity is described and a discussion on the number of cases where the functional importance of repetitive elements is studied in molecular detail is presented.

Dietary fats and membrane function: Implications for metabolism and disease
Article Abstract:
The role of dietary fatty acid profile on membrane composition and its impact on prevalent disease clusters of the metabolic syndrome and mental illness is discussed. The understanding of dietary lipid profile and its influence on membrane function in relation to metabolic dysregulation has the potential to prevent and treat a range of prevalent disease states.
