Wolbachia infections in the cimicidae: Museum specimens as an untapped resource for endosymbiont surveys
Article Abstract:
Ethanol-preserved museum specimens can be used for Wolbachia infection surveys. The results have shown that Wolbachia infections might be common among cimicids and that archived museum material is a useful untapped resource for invertebrate endosymbiont surveys and the new screening primers are useful for other researchers conducting Wolbachia surveys with specimens with less-than-optimum DNA quality.

Can Anopheles gambiae be infected with Wolbachia pipientis? Insights from an in vitro system?
Article Abstract:
In vitro system is used to evaluate the ability of Anopheles gambiae cells to harbor diverse Wolbachia pipientis infections. The results have shown no intrinsic genetic block to Wolbachia pipientis infection in Anopheles gambiae cells, suggesting that establishment of in vivo Wolbachia pipientis infections in Anopheles mosquitoes might be feasible.

Propagation of arthropod-borne Rickettsia spp. In two mosquito cell lines
Article Abstract:
Two cell lines are used for the purpose of rickettsial propagation. Both cell lines allow the stable propagation of rickettsiae by weekly passaging regimens.
