Forecast horizons in the discounted dynamic lot size model
Article Abstract:
The discounted dynamic lot size problem is worthy of consideration given the popularity of the practice of discounting future expenses in production and inventory, and the importance of discounting in determining whether forecast horizons in general dynamic optimization problems exist. To study the discounted dynamic lot size model (DLSM), the average cost DLSM considered by Chand, Sethi and Proth in their 1990 work is extended. The results of the analysis are discussed.
