Forecasting accuracy: comparing the relative effectiveness of practices between seven developed countries
Article Abstract:
Power-distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism/collectivism and masculinity/femininity indices are four cultural factors that affect forecast practices in seven developed countries. The use of computer and statistical methods in forecasting increases with the presence power-distance factor. Meanwhile, companies in nations with high individualism tend to depend more on the use of subjective information in forecasting.

The Round Room comes to an end
Article Abstract:
The contents of the Round Reading Room were moved in late 1997 after almost 250 years of being part of the British Museum. The room was a place people could go to research, read and write. The latest design of the facility, opened in 1759, was created by librarian Antonio Panizzi in 1852.
