Adding up sliding fees in state tourism billings
Article Abstract:
Houston Effler Herstek Favat executives defended the company against allegations in the Boston Globe that the ad agency overcharges the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT). The executives say that their 11.5% commission rate is lower than many ad agency rates. However, MOTT paid its agency GSD&M in Austin, TX, a commission of 8.5% in its first year and 5.5% in its final year, and Texas' tourism office paid the same agency a five-year commission of 6.8%.
