Rodney Adler is the son of Larry Adler, a Hungarian who came to Australia after World War II and founded the insurance company FAI Home Security, plus OneTel and Anaconda Nickel. Rodney took over FAI after his father's death in 1988. The company's assets included properties formerly owned by Alan Bond. HIH Insurance plans to acquire FAI for 75 cents a share.
