Advertising: the extremely creative Kaplan Thaler Group agrees to be acquired by MacManus Group

MacManus Group will acquire Kaplan Thaler Group. Kaplan Thayer has estimated billings of $145 mil for 1999. Accounts include American Red Cross, United Jewish Appeal, and 6 Clairol brands from Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. Linda Kaplan Thayer, the agency's eponymous principle, says MacManus' research and media capabilities will bring added strength to her agency's pursuit of new business. MacManus CEO, Roy J. Bostock and Ms. Kaplan Thaler have agreed that Kaplan Thayer should continue to operate as independently as possible.
