Article Abstract:
Spending on defense programs, such as fighter planes, is likely to increase in spite of negotiated defense budget caps between Congress and the White House, and replacement parts need to be procured, as well. A backlog of orders was announced by the Boeing Co in Dec 1999, and the future of the A-3XX from Airbus Industrie in Europe seems to be in question. Investors need to concentrate on only the most timely stocks in these industries.
